Reflection on 2025: A Year of Creativity & Connection

As the year draws to a close, Carolina Wong reflects on a year defined by creativity, experimentation, and a deep connection to nature.

Nature has remained a constant source of inspiration throughout 2025. From the textured surfaces of bark to the intricate patterns of butterfly wings, Carolina’s designs are guided by organic forms and the beauty of natural transformation. These influences are further enriched by her personal heritage, including her grandmother’s floral embroidery—a craft that continues to inspire her, celebrating imperfection, movement, and the elegance of change.

Bloom Collection: Jewellery Rooted in Memory

Rooted in personal history, the Bloom collection draws inspiration from the hand embroidery on a baby-carry sling given to Carolina by her grandmother during her childhood.

Each piece features soft, sculptural floral forms crafted in mother-of-pearl, designed to feel light and feminine, echoing the intricacy of embroidery translated into jewellery.

Capturing Transformation: Abalone Shell and Butterfly Motifs

“A journey back to Hong Kong, where Carolina Wong’s creative path began in childhood, reignited her inspiration. Immersed in familiar surroundings and textures, she found herself captivated by the iridescent beauty of abalone shell, bringing new depth and life to the Aba collection.”

Abalone shell carefully set into butterfly wings forms, chosen for their symbolism of transformation and movement. Each shell is entirely unique, reflecting their own colours, patterns and luminosity, meaning no two pieces are ever the same.

The Art of Experiment: Crafting the unexpected from the familiar

Experimentation with patination techniques creates a soft ombré effect across silver, gradually revealing subtle tones of blue, purple, and brown.

This year, Carolina Wong has developed this technique across the Farfalla, Willow, and Annabelle collections, adding depth and character to the sculptural details. The effect enhances a sense of movement and evolution within each piece, highlighting the delicate beauty of the leaf and butterfly motifs.

Inspired by Connection: Workshops, Style, and Personal Creativity

Beyond the collections themselves, 2025 was a year of connection and shared creativity. Carolina Wong hosted in-store events designed to invite customers into the world behind the jewellery.

A colour analysis talk, led by expert stylist Gigi Vakilzadeh, offered insights into how tone and contrast can enhance personal style, helping clients feel confident in their jewellery choices. This was followed by a Matcha & Munch jewellery-making workshop in collaboration with Morena, where guests were guided through creating their own personalised bracelets.

These experiences highlighted the care, skill, and thoughtfulness behind each piece, offering a deeper appreciation for the artistry and detail inherent in Carolina Wong’s jewellery.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the brand this year and its journey as an independent, sustainable jewellery label. From participating in workshops to wearing each design, every connection has made 2025 a truly memorable year.

Every piece of jewellery tells a story, but it’s the people who wear them that bring them to life.
